A mother and two of her sons were arrested Tuesday in the shooting death of 15-year-old Travon Edwards, whose body was found Friday in a wooded area in Melville.

Twanda Louray Washington, 33, of Melville, was booked on a count of obstruction of justice and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, and one of her sons, a 12-year-old, was booked on a count of negligent homicide, according to the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Another of Washington’s sons, a 15-year-old boy, was also booked on a count of obstruction of justice.

Both juveniles were booked Tuesday into a juvenile detention center, but no further details surrounding the case were immediately available.

A preliminary autopsy report from the St. Landry Parish Coroner’s Office indicated Edwards died from a bullet wound. His body was found around 11 p.m. Friday near First Street , KATC-TV reported.

The Sheriff’s Office, which is leading the investigation, had previously identified Edwards as Travon Goudeau in accordance with a surname he once held, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Clay Higgins said.
