A suspect in the Oct. 23 shooting death of Lafayette rapper Jordan Dean is in custody. The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office booked 32-year-old Jamel Pickney on second-degree murder and an unrelated aggravated burglary.
Pickney was apprehended at the Super 8 Motel on N.E. Evangeline Thruway.
Dean, who went by the stage name “Choky,” was shot and killed in the Marigny Circle area of Lafayette Parish.
