Police on Friday named a Lafayette teenager as a supsect in a shootout earlier in the week that left a man injured with a graze wound to his head.
Kavante Richmond, 19, is wanted on a count of attempted second-degree murder in the shooting, which happened around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Debaillon and Doc Duhon Streets, according to a news release from the Lafayette Police Department.
Police suspect Richmond of instigating an argument with two people and opening fire, leading one of the people to return fire and injure a man who had been walking along the street with Richmond, the release statement. Another three people present scurried from the scene.
