State investigators cited a Broussard strip club for prostitution during a statewide sting operation that also led to the emergency suspensions of two Morgan City strip clubs, the Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control announced on Tuesday.
The owners of Michael’s, located at 4000 U.S. 90, will be scheduled for an administrative hearing in coming weeks after citations for one count each of prostitution and lewd acts, according to a news release from ATC Commissioner Troy Hebert.
Two Morgan City strip clubs were ordered to stop selling alcohol and tobacco products immediately “due to the threat to public safety,” Hebert said.
Judy’s Lounge, at 8704 La. 182 East in Morgan City, was cited on five counts of prostitution, 11 counts of lewd acts and three counts of controlled dangerous substances on the premises.
Temptations, at 9349 La. 182 East in Morgan City, was cited on two counts of prostitution, four counts of lewd acts and two counts of prostitution.
Another Morgan City strip club — Double Deez, 8800 La. 182 East — was cited on one count of prostitution and two counts of controlled dangerous substances on the premises.
Another 10 clubs across the state were cited during the sting.
