Police arrested four teenagers accused of burglarizing unlocked vehicles in a Youngsville neighborhood.
Nicholas Latiolais, 17, and three unnamed juveniles were arrested early Tuesday after patrol officers spotted two of them running from parked cars in the Windermere Subdivision off LA 92, according to the Youngsville Police Department. The officers ran after them and soon apprehended the other two teens believed to have been involved in at least two burglaries in the neighborhood.
Latiolais remained in the Lafayette Parish jail on Tuesday afternoon on two counts of simple burglary and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of juveniles. The other three juveniles were sent to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office’s Juvenile Assessment Center.
Youngsville Police Chief Rickey Boudreaux said a majority of the vehicle burglaries his officers have investigated this year involved electronics stolen from unlocked vehicles.
