CROWLEY — Investigators are working to identify two people who forced their way into a Kathy Meadows apartment early Saturday and shot a man three times as his wife and young child looked on.
The family was returning home shortly after midnight when two people in dark clothing and ski masks entered the apartment and shot the man, wounding his face, arm and back, Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Maxine Trahan said. The victim is in stable condition at an area hospital.
Trahan said a motive for the shooting is unclear at this point, as the victims told police nothing was taken from the home.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information to come forward “so hopefully, there’s not another victim,” Trahan said.
