St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s detectives arrested two people, and another remains at large, in the April 17 drug-related death of Lance Gordon.

Jessica Eve Stelly, 29, was booked April 29 on counts of second-degree murder and obstruction of justice. Gene Allen Dunbar, 34, was booked April 22 on counts of negligent homicide and obstruction of justice, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office.

An arrest warrant was issued for another man, Stephan Paul Godeaux, 27, on counts of negligent homicide and obstruction of justice.

Gordon, 26, died after being injected with a drug cocktail prepared by Stelly, the news release says.

“He became very sick … he needed immediate medical care,” Lt. Clay Higgins, public information officer for the sheriff’s office, said in the news release. “He needed Ms. Stelly to call 911. Instead, she called Gene Dunbar and Stephan Paul Godeaux.”

Dunbar, Stelly and Godeaux transported Gordon to his home, cleaned him up and propped him on his sofa, Higgins said. Gordon was discovered by family on April 18, dead on the sofa, a victim of an apparent drug overdose.

Information on the home towns of Gordon, Dunbar, Stelly and Godeaux was not available Thursday night.
