Man, 27, questioned after woman shot

CROWLEY - A 27-year-old Crowley man is in custody and being questioned in the Wednesday morning shooting of a Crowley woman, who remains in critical condition after being shot in the abdomen and head, Crowley police said in a Thursday news release.

Police Chief K.P. Gibson said in the release that Derrick Davis has other outstanding arrest warrants in unrelated cases.

The shooting occurred about 3 a.m. in the 200 block of Wilson Street, the release says.

The woman’s age was not released Thursday.

When officers arrived, they found the woman lying on the ground, the release says.

Patterson man held in child porn case

PATTERSON - Agents with the state Attorney General’s High Technology Crime Unit arrested a Patterson man Tuesday in an investigation of computer-related crimes against children, according to a news release.

Jacob Montgomery, 35, 901 First St., Patterson, was arrested on counts of pornography involving juveniles, the release says. The arrest was the result of a joint investigation with State Police, Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Patterson Police Department, the release says.

Montgomery was booked into the St. Mary Parish Jail, the release says.
