Police ID pedestrian killed in accident

LAFAYETTE - Lafayette police said 55-year-old Adan Peralez was the victim in the July 4 pedestrian fatality at the intersection of Garber Road and southeast Evangeline Thruway.

Peralez, originally of Texas, was struck by an SUV while attempting to cross the thruway, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.

Man held after son, 16, found in bar

LAFAYETTE - Lafayette police arrested a 38-year-old man after they found him and his 16-year-old son in the same downtown bar early Friday morning, police said in a news release.

Shortly after midnight, employees of Nite Town advised police that a 16-year-old boy was inside the business, the release said.

While police were talking to the boy, the boy’s father called him from inside the same bar asking him where he was, the release said.

Police arrested Joe Duhon III after he exited the bar on one count of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, the release said.

The teen was released to a family member, the release said.
