FRANKLIN — A Bayou Vista man convicted in June for the 2007 murder of his brother has been sentenced to life in prison, KATC-TV reported.
Christopher Horton, 28, was sentenced by state district Judge Paul deMahy on Friday, just shy of two months since Horton’s conviction on one count of first-degree murder of his brother, Adam Horton.
Adam Horton was bound to a chair and stabbed to death. It took a jury less than an hour to convict Christopher Horton in mid-July.
Christopher Horton also was the focus of a manhunt in February after he and another inmate escaped from the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville.
The pair were located days later in Lafayette.
