EUNICE — An Iota woman died Thursday night after she was ejected from a motorcycle in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 190.
Krystal McGinn, 38, was passenger on a 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Brent Soileau, 51, of Eunice, when a woman in a 2007 Hyundai Sonata failed to yield at a stop sign at the La. 95 intersection, State Police said in a news release.
The motorcycle crashed into the front left corner of the car, driven by 32-year-old Tabitha Deshotel of Basile, who was attempting to cross the eastbound travel lanes of U.S. 190 when the crash occurred.
Soileau was airlifted to an area hospital with critical injuries. Both he and McGinn were not wearing helmets, State Police said.
Deshotel was restrained in her car and was not injured. Impairment is not suspected to be a contributing factor in the crash, State Police said. The crash remains under investigation.
