A 35-year-old man from Eunice has been arrested on suspicion he possessed and distributed online child pornography, officials said.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies Friday booked Kevin Briscoe on 29 counts of possessing and one count of distributing online pornography involving children, Attorney General Buddy Caldwell said in a news release Monday.

The case was investigated by the Attorney General’s Office cyber crimes detectives and St. Landry detectives.

“Online criminals are elusive and are constantly changing their schemes and methods on the internet,” Caldwell said. “We are currently working to enhance the technology and tools we need to fight these online predators who prey on our children.”

Investigators discovered dozens of pornographic images and videos, Caldwell said.

Briscoe was booked into the St. Landry Parish jail on counts of producing, distributing, possessing and possessing with the intent to distribute child pornography.

Briscoe faces up to 20 years in prison if he’s convicted, Caldwell said.
