SCOTT — Motorists on Interstate 10 near Scott were able to witness a raging fire as a barn burned south of the roadway Friday morning.
Firefighters at the Scott Volunteer Fire Department received the call at just before 9 a.m. about a fire on Mill Road, Chief Chad Sonnier said in a release.
“The large barn was fully involved with fire” when fire trucks arrived, Sonnier said.
Using a fire truck that pumps 1,500 gallons a minute, the fire was doused quickly, according to the release.
Sonnier said the blaze has been ruled accidental.
