Police on Wednesday recovered a stolen lawn mower and the stolen trailer used to haul it away — two months after the two Lafayette men accused in the thefts confessed to stealing them though not revealing where they took the equipment.

The items were found in Youngsville after an investigation that included the Broussard, Youngsville and Lafayette police departments, according to Broussard Police Chief Brannon Decou.

Jon Paul Boudreaux, 28, and Robert Brazell, 30, both were arrested in June and accused of the thefts after surveillance images implicated them in the crimes, Decou said.

Boudreaux and Brazell are accused of using a fraudulent check in May to buy the $13,000 lawn mower from a Broussard business, then using a trailer stolen from a Lafayette business to haul it away, Decou said.
