LAFAYETTE — A 14-year-old boy was shot once in the stomach during a Sunday afternoon disturbance at Mabel and Moss streets, police said in a news release.
The boy told investigators that he had met with a girl at the intersection when about 10 males approached the two, the release said.
A disturbance occurred and someone fired a handgun multiple times, the release said.
The victim fled the area, but later realized he had been shot, the release said.
A friend took him to a local hospital where he remained in stable condition as of late Sunday afternoon, the release said.
