A Lafayette man accused of murdering a 19-year-old Lafayette man in July was deemed incompetent to stand trial on Thursday and ordered to undergo rehabilitation in a state mental hospital, KATC-TV reported.

Felix Parry Pierre III, 24, is charged in the shooting death of Deontra Alexander. A judge appointed a sanity commission to evaluate Pierre’s mental state before allowing him to stand trial.
