Authorities investigating a late-night shooting Tuesday in Breaux Bridge in which one person was injured ened up arresting another man as a suspect in a shooting in Abbeville earlier this month, the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responding to reports of an erratic driver and gunfire on Johnson Road arrived on the scene to learn one person had gone to the hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound, said Maj. Ginny Higgins, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman. The victim was treated and released.

Deputies have not identified the shooter, but 20-year-old Andrew Granger of Abbeville, who was on the scene when deputies arrived, was booked on a warrant related to a Feb. 6 shooting in Abbeville, Higgins said.

Granger was booked on two counts of attempted second-degree murder and one count each of aggravated criminal damage to property and felon in possession of a firearm, Higgins said.

The matter remains under investigation.
