FRANKLIN — A 56-year-old former pastor from Franklin is accused of luring a 16-year-old boy to a sugarcane field for sexual acts.
Jules Anderson Jr., of 707 Iberia St., was booked Thursday on a count of attempted indecent behavior with a juvenile, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office said.
According to an online fundraising account set up by Anderson, he is the former pastor and current overseer of the Israelite Divine Spiritual Church of Christ II in Four Corners, KATC-TV reported.
Deputies found Anderson and the teenager on the evening of May 15 parked in a sugarcane field on La. 87 and later determined the man “convinced the juvenile to go with him to the location with the intention of engaging in sexual acts,” the Sheriff’s Office said in its daily arrest report.
Anderson was released on a $15,000 bond.
