A federal jury on Monday found a former Lafayette postal worker guilty of stealing hundreds of dollars from the U.S. mail, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The jury found Cate A. Plauche, 49, guilty of 11 counts of mail theft after a one-day trial, according to a news release. Plauche stole the money in April 2015 while employed as a mail carrier at a Lafayette post office, the release says.

Plauche faces up to five years in prison, three years of supervised release, restitution costs and a $250,000 fine for each count.
