CROWLEY - Crowley police said a 50-year-old Crowley man has been arrested in the early Monday morning stabbing death of 29-year-old Lucius George, according to a news release.
The stabbing occurred shortly after midnight in the 200 block of North Avenue D, the release said. Officers responded to the scene and found George suffering from a stab wound to the abdomen. He was taken to the American Legion Hospital, where he later died from his injuries, the release said.
Officers arrested Arlington H. Pailett, 50, of Crowley, on one count of second-degree murder. Pailett was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail, the release said.
Police said the reason for the disturbance is still unclear.
“It saddens me to see these types of crimes occur, as Crowley is a great community,” Crowley Police Chief K.P. Gibson said in a statement. “People need to think about the consequences of their actions and need to revert to settling their problems peacefully. Violence does not resolve problems, it just create more problems.”
