A single-vehicle crash on La. 86 at La. 680 killed a St. Martinville woman and left three juveniles in critical condition, State Police said in a news release Monday.
State Police said a 1995 Honda Accord driven by 33-year-old Shafika Maturin ran off the right side of the road, entered a ditch, rotated clockwise and struck a driveway, causing the vehicle to flip several times.
Maturin and five passengers were not properly restrained and were ejected from the vehicle, State Police said.
Three of the passengers were juveniles, ages 13, 11, and 7, all of whom were taken to local area hospitals in critical condition, State Police said.
The other two passengers, 22-year-old Chaz Lopez and 36-year-old Belinda Maturin, both of New Iberia, were taken to local hospitals with minor injuries.
Shafika Maturin was pronounced dead at the scene by the Iberia Parish Coroner, State Police said.
Routine toxicology samples were obtained and have been submitted to the State Police Crime Lab.
