Lafayette grand jury indicts 3 men in separate homicides _lowres

Photo provided by FACEBOOK -- Silas Tate, 25, of Lafayette, died Jan. 29, 2015, after he was shot in the head the night before at a home in the 400 block of Bayou Tortue Road. Dillon Francis, 21, of Broussard, was booked the same day on a count of second-degree murder in the shooting.

A Lafayette Parish grand jury on Wednesday indicted three men on second-degree murder charges in three separate homicides in Lafayette, Broussard and Scott.

Ronald Seals, 53, is charged in the Feb. 14 shooting death of 44-year-old James Orgeron in Lafayette.

Dillion Wade Trahan, 21, is accused of shooting 25-year-old Silas Tate on Jan. 28 in Broussard.

Jason Marlin, 34, is accused in the June 30 shooting death of 19-year-old Valerie West in Scott.

All face a mandatory life sentence if convicted.
