LAFAYETTE — A Lafayette Police officer shot a man in the shoulder late Thursday in a disturbance on East Clinton Street, Lafayette Police reported.
The officer was responding to reports of gunshots in the area when the man pointed a pistol at him, police said. The officer fired several shots, striking the man in the shoulder.
The man, identified only as a 19-year-old Lafayette resident, is in stable condition at an area hospital, police said. The officer was not injured.
The shooting is under investigation by the Lafayette Police Department Officer Involved Shooting Team.
