A three vehicle car crash on US 90 near LA 14 in Iberia Parish killed an 18-year-old man and left others injured early Sunday morning, according to a Louisiana State Police release.

Recent Loreauville High School graduate Jordan Prince, 18, of Loreauville, Louisiana died on the scene, according to the release.

The release states King Ellis, 31, of Jeanerette, Louisiana was driving a 2006 Dodge Durango westbound in the eastbound lanes of US 90 Sunday around 2:45 a.m.

Prince was drive a 1995 Dodge Ram pick-up truck eastbound on US 90 in an inside lane, and when the two cars approached each other Prince used his breaks to avoid the crash, according to the release.

The two cars crashed in the inside lane, according to the release. After the crash, parts from the cars hit a passing car causing minor damage.

Ellis sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital and Prince was pronounced dead on the scene by the Iberia Parish Coroner’s Office, according to the release.

Impairment for Ellis is suspected, and toxicology samples were taken from both Ellis and Prince, according to the release.

The car crash is still under investigation.
