LAFAYETTE — Authorities arrested a 29-year-old Freeport, Texas, man in two separate armed robberies at Gulf Coast Bank in Lafayette, according to a news release.

Kimrick Lewis was taken into custody Tuesday at 9 p.m. in Clute, Texas, the release said.

Detectives with the Lafayette Police Department were assisted by the Freeport Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service Violent Offender Task Force from Houston and Lafayette, the release said.

Lewis will be extradited to Louisiana where he will face two counts of armed robbery stemming from the April 20 and Sept. 16 robberies at the bank’s Johnston Street location.
