LAFAYETTE – A Lafayette man is wanted for attempted second-degree murder in a weekend shooting that left one man hospitalized.

Detectives obtained a warrant for 30-year-old Rondell Derouen, who is accused of shooting a man twice around 4 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Clara Street.

The victim, who was not identified, told police he was involved in an argument with Derouen, who produced a pistol and shot the victim before running away, according to a news release from Cpl. Paul Mouton, a Lafayette Police Department spokesman.

The victim is in stable condition at a local hospital.
