Detectives were searching Wednesday for two Lafayette Parish men accused in a Tuesday night armed robbery and shooting at a Lafayette apartment complex.

Joseph Freeman, 17, of Lafayette, is wanted on a warrant for attempted first-degree murder in the shooting at Cypress Shadows Apartments off South Beadle Road, according a news release from the Lafayette Police Department. Freeman and a second suspect, 20-year-old Denzel Jones of Carencro, are accused of armed robbery in the incident.

One of the two victims in the robbery, a 31-year-old man, was shot and is in critical condition at an area hospital, police said. The second victim, a 20-year-old man, suffered minor injuries after being forced to the ground at gunpoint and robbed of shoes, jewelry and cash.

The victims told police they were walking in the parking lot when they were approached by the two men and robbed, police said.
