Four Acadiana-area educators made the list of semifinalists for Louisiana’s teacher and principal of the year honors.
Brandi Marcantel, a fourth-grade math teacher at Vidrine Elementary in Evangeline Parish, is one of 18 semifinalists for teacher of the year. Principal of the year contenders include: Cheri Fontenot, of James Stephens Montessori in Evangeline Parish; Rachael Credeur, of Patterson High School in St. Mary Parish; and Patricia Gaspard, of Forked Island/E.
