The University of Louisiana at Lafayette Alumni Association honored outstanding graduates from the university’s eight colleges during the fall 2015 commencement on Friday.
Each dean nominates one student based on leadership, scholarship and service. A selection committee of the Alumni Association interviews the candidates and selects one to receive its overall outstanding graduate award. The honorees included:
College of the Arts: Margot Fry, a music major with concentrations in theory and composition, and music media, 3.58 GPA. She is the daughter of Chris and Cheri Fry, of Denham Springs.
B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration: Annie Briley, a marketing major with a 4.0 GPA, who earned her degree in 31/2 years. Briley is the daughter of Mark and Stacey Briley, of Lafayette.
College of Education: Leondré Queen, a kinesiology major with a 3.89 GPA. Queen was named the overall outstanding graduate and is the son of Joyce Triggs, of Thibodaux.
College of Engineering: Anastasiya Gromova, a petroleum engineering major with a 3.88 GPA. Gromova is the daughter of Svitlana Gromova-Patout and Frederick Patout, of New Iberia.
College of Liberal Arts: Emily Gauthier, who earned a double major in English and sociology and completed more than 150 hours of degree requirements in less than four years, with a 4.0 GPA. She is the daughter of DeAnn Kalich, of Lafayette, and Stuart Gauthier, of Kaplan.
College of Nursing and Allied Health Professions: Kevin Thomas Malone, a nursing major with a 3.28 GPA. He is the son of John Malone and Leslie Malone, both of Lafayette.
Ray P. Authement College of Sciences: Gage Seaux, a geology major with a 3.8 GPA. His parents are Preston and Angela Seaux, of Lafayette.
University College: Brittany DiNunzio, a general studies major with a concentration in arts. She has a 3.52 GPA and is the daughter of Glen DiNunzio, of White Plains, New York, and Tiffany Alario, of Cut Off. Her stepparents are Carlye DiNunzio and Joseph Alario.
