The Vermilionville Living History Museum Foundation will offer a free folklife workshop for teachers to instruct them on designing lessons to work with students in storytelling.
The “Tell Me a Story” workshop, to be held July 30 and 31, is for fourth- through 12-grade teachers.
“The lesson plans we’ve made available on our website ... explore deep cultural topics that often go unnoticed, all while aligning with education standards,” said Vermilionville Education Coordinator Adam Doucet in a news release.
The workshop is funded by the National Endowment for the Arts Folk and Traditional Arts Program.
Teachers may register for the free workshop through the school system’s CourseWhere management system under the title “Folklife Workshop #8041.”
Registration is limited to 25 teachers, and the deadline to register is July 24.
