The Lafayette Parish School System will open two call centers to help answer questions about the start of school, which is Aug. 13.
The first call center for transportation questions opens at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at (337) 521-RIDE. The transportation call center will remain open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays through Aug. 21.
A second call center for general questions about the start of school will open at 7:30 a.m. Thursday at (337) 291-HELP. The call center is meant for all other questions about the start of school. Retired teachers have volunteered to staff it on these days and times:
Thursday and Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Aug. 10: 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Aug. 11, 12: 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Aug. 13, 14, 17 and 18: 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
