Saying he’s “tired of the negativity” and of “individuals trying to defame my character,” embattled Carencro Middle School Principal Spurgeon Banyard has turned in his resignation. He said he’s leaving effective June 17.
“I’m trying to do what’s best for me and my family,” Banyard told KATC-TV. “I thought it was best to leave. I just felt it was best because I had to endure this type of thing before.”
Banyard has come under fire lately after his teaching certificate was suspended one day and reinstated the next after court documents surfaced showing a 1997 felony arrest for embezzlement in Mississippi.
