LAFAYETTE — The University of Louisiana at Lafayette Alumni Association awarded endowed scholarships of $1,000 to exemplary students in each academic college, the Student Alumni Association and the Graduate School, a news release stated.

Students awarded scholarships were:

• Laura Guichard, of Lafayette, an accounting major, Moody College of Business Administration.

e_SBlt Kristen Vaughan, of Chalmette, a kinesiology/health and physical education major, College of Education.

e_SBlt Andrew Manuel of Youngsville, a mechanical engineering major, College of Engineering.

e_SBlt Kayla Arwood, of Lafayette, a general studies major, College of General Studies.

e_SBlt Daniel Manuel, of Ville Platte, a history major, minor in Cajun and Creole studies, College of Liberal Arts.

e_SBlt Patrick Berner, of Metairie, a dietetics/exercise science major, minor in business, College of Nursing and Allied Health Professions.

e_SBlt Christine Granger, of Lafayette, a chemistry major, College of the Sciences.

e_SBlt Heidi Daigle, of Rayne, a kinesiology/exercise science major, Student Alumni Association.

e_SBlt Amy Lynn Schexnayder, of Church Point, history and geography, Graduate School.

The endowed scholarships were made possible through donations to the Alumni Annual Fund and from the purchase of ULL Prestige License plates through the Louisiana Department of Motor Vehicles.

Due to the recent economic downturn, the Alumni Association contributed $10,000 to the endowment to ensure that the scholarships could be fully awarded this academic year, the release stated.
