LAFAYETTE — Empower PAC, the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce’s political action committee, announced the endorsement of Lafayette Parish School Board District 8 candidate Erick Knezek.
Knezek, a Republican from Lafayette, is a member of the chamber’s board of directors and is co-founder and managing partner of Truston Technologies Inc., a marine services company.
Knezek also is a U.S. Navy veteran.
“We can’t help getting excited about Erick. He is a proven leader and a passionate champion for Lafayette,” said Empower PAC Chairman Frank Neuner in a news release. “Through his outstanding service to our country and consistent community involvement, Erick has demonstrated a commitment to putting others first.
Knezek said he will work to “stop the waste of taxpayer dollars on anything other than better schools for students and teachers” and to repair school facilities, according to the news release.
Knezek faces District 8 incumbent Hunter Beasley, who is the board president, in the Nov. 4 election.
