Jennifer Gardner, an assistant principal at L.J. Alleman Middle School for the past four years, has taken over the school’s top job.

Lafayette Parish Schools Superintendent Donald Aguillard announced Gardner’s appointment Tuesday.

Gardner holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a master’s degree from the American College of Education.

She taught science at Milton Elementary/Middle School for eight years before providing instructional support to classroom teachers as a middle school science instructional coach.

Gardner replaces Kathy Aloisio, who was recently appointed as the new director of elementary schools.
