University of Louisiana at Lafayette names Vanessa Hill interim head of its business school’s management department _lowres

Vanessa Hill

Vanessa Hill has been named interim management department head within the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for the 2015-16 academic year.

Hill, an associate professor of management, holds the J.J. Burdin, M.D., and Helen B. Burdin/BORSF professorship of professional ethics, and the Mr. and Mrs. E.P. “Pat” Nalley BORSF professorship of business administration. She was a previous recipient of the Professional Women’s Association endowed professorship in business administration.

Hill’s research interests include corporate social responsibility, ethics, leadership and workplace values, and her articles have been widely published in academic and practitioner journals. She also provides human resources consulting services and training, and serves the community as a board member for the Lafayette Public Library board of control, the Lafayette Public Library Foundation board, and the Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum governance board.

Hill earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology, anthropology and psychology from Swarthmore College, and her master’s and doctorate degrees from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University.

Before joining UL-Lafayette, she was a faculty member at the University of Arizona and at Winthrop University.
