Lafayette Middle and Paul Breaux Middle schools now have new principals.

Superintendent Donald Aguillard announced Wednesday the selection of Allison El Koubi as Lafayette Middle’s principal and Stephen Judice as principal of Paul Breaux Middle.

El Koubi is a doctoral candidate in the educational leadership program at LSU, and her experience includes 10 years as a teacher and library director and three years as a principal at schools in Clinton and Jackson. She also served as executive director of achievement in the Baton Rouge Recovery School District and as a consultant for the Louisiana Department of Education. She holds a Master of Education degree in school leadership from LSU and a Master of Business Education from Solvay Business School at the Université Libre de Bruxelle in Brussels.

She replaces Donald Thornton, who is now principal at Lafayette High following the retirement of longtime administrator Patrick Leonard.

Judice holds a Master of Educational Leadership from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and since 2012 has served as assistant principal at Paul Breaux Middle.

His prior work experience includes seven years as a history and psychology teacher at Comeaux High.

Prior to his appointment as assistant principal at Paul Breaux, Judice was an itinerant assistant principal at Comeaux and Acadiana High schools.

Judice replaces Loretta Caldwell, who retired this summer.
