Original story: Evangeline Parish public schools will be closed Tuesday after multiple threats against area schools were made online, according to a report.
Six threats were reported, and only one case has been resolved, Superintendent Darwin Lazard said in a statement, according to a KATC-TV report.
All parish schools will be searched to determine if any of the threats have credibility, school board members told KATC.
Sacred Heart School in Ville Platte, a private school, will also be closed Tuesday due to the threats, KATC reported.
On Monday, a 15-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly making threats on social media to shoot students at an Evangeline Parish school. Ville Platte police launched an investigation after residents reported seeing the threats online.
Lazard said the school did place metal detectors at entrances of the school and students were searched for any weapons.
