LAFAYETTE — The first of six planned public forums focused on the search for Lafayette’s new schools superintendent begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at David Thibodaux Career and Technical High School, 805 Teurlings Drive.

The forum is an opportunity for the public to share opinions about qualities desired in the next superintendent.

The application period for the job closes Sept. 12 and so far, at least 11 have applied. Interviews could begin in mid-October with public feedback shaping questions that will be posed to the top candidates, School Board members have said.

Upcoming feedback forums are scheduled:

• Aug. 23: Carencro High

• Aug. 30: Lafayette High

• Sept. 6: Acadiana High

• Sept. 13: Northside High

• Sept. 22: Comeaux High

The forums begin at 6 p.m.
