Louisiana Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser arrived to “a sea of green” at the White House for a St. Patrick’s Day reception Thursday, according to a photo posted on social media by Wisconsin Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch.

“Literally - they dyed the fountain out front green,” Kleefisch wrote. She, Nungesser and about eight other second-in-commands were invited to take part in the White House reception with President Donald Trump and Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny.

She took a selfie with Nungesser and a couple of other lieutenant governors at the reception in the White House’s East Room.

Kleefisch noted that Nungesser had sent her a King Cake and had pardoned a crawfish.

Nungesser, a Republican who took office in January 2016, was in Washington, D.C. for the National Lieutenant Governors Association's annual federal-state relations meeting.
