LAFAYETTE — Michelle Meaux Breaux won the 15th Judicial District Court, Division E judge race with 58 percent of the vote.
Breaux received 4,552 votes, while her challenger Mark Allen Babineaux received 3,356 votes or 42 percent of the vote, based on complete but unofficial results.
Babineaux opted not to seek re-election to his District 1 seat on the Lafayette Parish School Board to run for judge.
In the Nov. 4 general election, Breaux led with 3,758 votes or nearly 41 percent of the vote. Babineaux trailed by 515 votes, receiving 3,243 votes or 35 percent of the vote. Challenger Valerie Gotch Garrett, D-Lafayette, received 2,171 votes or nearly 24 percent of the vote.
