He says a survey crew will go to the area Wednesday to check whether the damage is from a tornado or straight-line winds, since that sort of damage also was reported.

The National Weather Service expecting severe weather Tuesday night reported a tornado watch until 5 a.m. Wednesday.

Showers over the southwest part of Mississippi and to the north of Baton Rouge were being monitored by the weather service for chances of strengthening.
