JAN. 20—NRA BASIC PISTOL/ENHANCED CARRY COURSE: 8:30 a.m., Southwest Mississippi Gun Club, McComb, Miss. Fee $65. Approved for Louisiana residents. Attendees should bring own semiautomatic/revolver pistols (rimfire or centerfire semi-auto/revolvers; Louisiana residents must use semi-auto & revolver to meet La. requirements)/50 rounds of ammo for each weapon, lunch & beverage; 22 caliber rimfire available at range. CLOSURE/FALL INSHORE SHRIMP SEASON: State inside waters will close from Louisiana-Mississippi line west to Louisiana-Texas line EXCEPT Chef Menteur and Rigolets Passes, Lake Borgne, Mississippi Sound, Mississippi River Gulf Outlet, the portion of the Intracoastal Waterway in Orleans Parish from the East Closure Sector Gate west to the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal, and the open waters of Breton and Chandeleur Sounds.
