The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council has set a March 16 deadline for applications for spots on the Reef Fish and the Shrimp advisory panels.

Those selected will serve three-year terms, and are reimbursed for travel expenses and get per-diem pay.

The council’s release stated, “Advisory Panels are charged with advising the Council on specific fishery issues, and are comprised of individuals who are knowledgeable and interested in the conservation and management of the fishery resources, or who are engaged in the harvest of Gulf of Mexico managed species,” for up to two meeting each year.
