The nightmare run-up to district baseball play continues.

Due to heavy rain in the area, the Rebel Invitational hosted by Teurlings Catholic was forced to postpone its Thursday’s slate of games.

Teurlings coach Mike Thibodeaux made the decision to postpone the games in order to preserve the fields, as the rain is forecasted to stop Thursday night.

“I know everyone is ready to play some baseball,” Thibodeaux said in an email. “It’s taken me some time to contact everyone and to make sure that the proposed revisions will work for everyone.”

With the possibility of rain continuing through Friday afternoon, Thibodeaux has a plan in place in case of any further postponements.

“If anything changes for tomorrow at Fabacher Field or at Teurlings, I will let those who are affected know as soon as possible,” Thibodeaux said. “If there are any postponements or cancellations at other host sites, the hosting head coach will be the contact, and he will also inform umpires.”
