The Acadiana Wreckin’ Rams captured their second consecutive state championship and their fourth crown since 2006 with a 23-7 victory over Destrehan in 2014 Allstate Sugar Bowl/LHSAA Class 5A State Championship Game Saturday night.

Breaking out to an early 14-0 lead, Acadiana (11-4) got on the scoreboard near the end of the first quarter on a 37-yd. touchdown pass from Kevin Moore to Bry’kiethon Mouton. Eric Duhon’s two-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter extended the lead to 14-7.
Brodie Fontenot added field goal of 24 and 31 yards in the third quarter to extend the lead to 20-7.
Going for their first state championship since back-to-back titles in 2007 and 2008, Destrehan saw their undefeated season end with a 14-1 record.
The Wildcats lone score came in the first half on a two-yard touchdown run by Kohen Granier.
