FORT WORTH, Texas — Louisiana-Lafayette senior quarterback Terrance Broadway was one of 39 players named Wednesday to the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award watch list.
Broadway, a former Capitol High standout, is the fifth Ragin’ Cajun this summer to appear on a preseason watch list, joining Daniel Quave (Lombardi), Mykhael Quave (Lombardi), Justin Hamilton (Lombardi), Dominique Tovell (Lombardi) and Jamal Robinson (Biletnikoff).
In helping the Cajuns to a 9-4 record, the Sun Belt Conference championship and a third straight victory in the New Orleans Bowl last season, Broadway threw for 2,149 yards and 19 touchdowns while finishing third on the team with 442 yards rushing and eight TDs. Broadway led the Sun Belt in passing efficiency and was fourth in total offense and fifth in passing average.
Broadway injured his throwing arm against Louisiana-Monroe on Nov. 30 and missed the team’s regular-season finale at South Alabama a week later. He returned to action two weeks later against Tulane in the New Orleans Bowl, completing 12 of 19 passes for 143 yards in a 24-21 victory before a bowl-record crowd of 54,728.
