The Ragin’ Cajuns received a commitment late Monday night from three-star athlete Gary Haynes of Manvel, Texas.

“Just committed to the University of Louisiana Ragin Cajuns,” said Haynes through his Twitter account @ATMGEE_ Monday night.

The Cajuns recruited the 5-foot-8 Haynes to play wide receiver, presumably out of the slot position.

Haynes drew attention in May of this year when he posted a video on the social media application Vine of him catching a ball he threw himself. It doesn’t sound impressive until it’s noted that he ran about 35 yards to make the catch. He moved from cornerback to wide receiver his junior season, and responded by making 13 touchdown grabs. Haynes has nine touchdowns so far this season.

Haynes also holds an offer from the University of Houston, whose campus is a little more than 20 miles north of Manvel.
