COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Louisiana-Lafayette dropped its second-round game in the preseason Women's National Invitation Tournament 83-62 to No. 20 Texas A&M on Sunday at Reed Arena.
UL-Lafayette was leading at the end of the first quarter, but the Aggies had too much firepower as they pulled ahead in the second half to come away with the victory.
The loss means the Cajuns drop to the consolation bracket in the WNIT. They will play one more game in the tournament.
Freshman Skyler Goodwin, for the second straight game, led the Ragin' Cajuns in scoring with 13 points. Senior Nekia Jones finished with 10 points and four assists. ULL had 15 assists as a team.
