2Louisiana-Lafayette’s baseball team swept UL-Monroe in a three-game Sun Belt Conference weekend series that ended Saturday. The Ragin’ Cajuns will now play the Warhawks once again Wednesday in the first round of the Sun Belt tournament.

UL-Lafayette is the tournament’s top seed and will meet eighth-seeded ULM at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in the first round of the double-elimination tournament at South Alabama’s Eddie Stanky field in Mobile, Alabama.

Fourth-seeded Texas State and fifth-seeded Western Kentucky are on the side of the bracket with the Cajuns and the Warhawks, and the Bobcats and Hilltoppers will open the tournament at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Third-seeded Arkansas State and sixth-seeded Troy will meet at 4 p.m., and USA will face UT-Arlington in the Wednesday nightcap at 7:30 p.m. The host Jaguars qualified for the tournament Saturday night with a must-win 7-3 victory at Troy.
